Main Line Health named top Eastern Pa. System for supporting organ donation

Bryn Mawr, PAMain Line Health has earned recognition as the top health System in Eastern Pennsylvania for its efforts to champion organ, eye and tissue donation in The Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania’s (HAP) 2025 Donate Life Pennsylvania Hospital Challenge.

All four of Main Line Health’s acute care hospitals were honored as well, with Bryn Mawr Hospital attaining the distinction of second place in Eastern Pennsylvania among Top Performing Hospitals. Paoli Hospital was honored with a titanium designation, the highest level in the HAP Challenge other than the top individual honorees, and Lankenau Medical Center and Riddle Hospital received a platinum designation. Bryn Mawr Rehab earned a gold designation.

The annual Donate Life Pennsylvania Hospital Challenge encourages Pennsylvania hospitals to increase donation awareness. HAP partners with the Pennsylvania Department of Health and the two organ procurement organizations serving Pennsylvania — the Center for Organ Recovery & Education and Gift of Life Donor Program — to support the challenge.

"Organ donation represents lifesaving work, and it gives me tremendous pride to see our System and our individual hospitals celebrated for their dedication," said Ed Jimenez, Main Line Health President and CEO. "Spreading awareness about organ, eye and tissue donation is of utmost importance. Our teams collaborate closely with Gift of Life professionals and families to make possible the donations that transform the lives of patients facing serious illness."

There were 121 hospitals statewide that participated in this year’s challenge.

"Hospital teams rely on organ, eye and tissue donors to save lives and give patients a chance for a bright future," said HAP President and CEO Nicole Stallings. "Pennsylvania hospitals and our partners have done an outstanding job of supporting and raising awareness about donation. We applaud the hospital teams who participated in our annual challenge and demonstrated their strong commitment to improving the health of their communities."
