Main Line Health’s four acute care hospitals earn an A for patient safety from Leapfrog

Lankenau Medical Center, Bryn Mawr Hospital, Paoli Hospital and Riddle Hospital all recognized for excellence based on national standards for excellence

Bryn Mawr, PA — All four Main Line Health acute care hospitals once again earned a Hospital Safety Grade of A for spring 2024 from The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit watchdog that sets standards for excellence in patient safety.

Leapfrog assigns an A, B, C, D or F to general hospitals across the country based on over 30 measures of errors, accidents, injuries and infections as well as the systems that hospitals have in place to prevent them. Lankenau Medical Center, Bryn Mawr Hospital, Paoli Hospital and Riddle Hospital all received the highest grade.

“Patient safety and transparency are core values deeply embedded in Main Line Health’s culture,” said Jack Lynch, FACHE, President and CEO of Main Line Health. “It’s a credit to every single one of our employees that we consistently meet both Leapfrog’s high standards and our own. I’m gratified to be able to say that regardless of which Main Line Health hospital a patient selects, they will receive the same level of high-quality care and effort to ensure their utmost safety.”

Main Line Health actively participates in Leapfrog’s program by sharing information directly with the review team to highlight the safety protocols its hospitals have had in place for years.

“Everyone who works at Main Line Health should be proud of this ‘A’ Hospital Safety Grade,” said Leah Binder, President and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “It takes complete dedication of at every level and an ironclad commitment to putting patients first. I thank Main Line Health, its leadership, clinicians, staff and volunteers for caring so deeply for its patients and their safety.”
