Main Line Health contributes $2.2 billion to region’s economy
The Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania recently released its fiscal year (FY) 2022 community impact report, previously known as the economic impact report. The report highlights the critical value that Main Line Health, along with other hospitals and health systems throughout the state, provide to the health, livability and economic stability of the communities they serve. In FY22, Main Line Health:
- Contributed $2.2 billion to the region’s economy
- Supported 10,155 local full-time jobs
- Contributed to $4.6 billion total in economic activity throughout Pennsylvania
Main Line Health also delivered $275 million in community benefit by providing charity care, supporting patient care through Medicare and Medicaid and addressing community health needs through programs.
Lankenau Medical Center, Bryn Mawr Hospital ranked among best in Pa. by Newsweek
Lankenau Medical Center and Bryn Mawr Hospital, both part of Main Line Health, were ranked among Pennsylvania’s top hospitals in Newsweek’s America's Best-In-State Hospitals 2024 listings. Lankenau Medical Center is ranked eighth and Bryn Mawr 24th. The publication recognizes 600 hospitals across the nation.
Orthopaedic Surgery Center at Bryn Mawr Hospital and Paoli Surgery Center ranked by Newsweek among 2024 Best Ambulatory Surgery Centers
The Orthopaedic Surgery Center at Bryn Mawr Hospital and the Paoli Surgery Center at Paoli Hospital, part of Main Line Health, have been recognized as 2024 Best Ambulatory Surgery Centers by Newsweek. Newsweek ranked 550 facilities based on U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services data and partnered with Statista on the rankings.
Main Line Health’s acute care hospitals receive Healthgrades Specialty Awards
Healthgrades recently released its Specialty Excellence Awards that recognize superior patient outcomes across 17 service lines.
Lankenau Medical Center was ranked among the 50 best in cardiac surgery. It was also ranked among the 100 best nationally and among Pennsylvania’s best for cardiac care and was cited for pulmonary care excellence. Bryn Mawr Hospital was cited for gastrointestinal, joint replacement, pulmonary care and surgical care excellence. Paoli Hospital was rated for pulmonary care excellence. Riddle Hospital, part of Main Line Health, was ranked among the 100 best in critical care.
Dr. Francis Sutter honored by American Osteopathic Association
Dr. Francis Sutter, chief of cardiac surgery at Lankenau Medical Center, received a presidential citation from the American Osteopathic Association. Dr. Sutter has spent the last 18 years working to pioneer and advance minimally invasive coronary bypass surgery, seeking to reduce risks and decrease long-term complications, as well as dramatically cut recovery time.
