Andrew’s spinal cord story

After a dive into shallow waters during a day at the beach left 22-year-old Andrew paralyzed from the neck down, he was worried that his active lifestyle had come to an end. But the team at Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital had other plans.

For one month, Andrew completed three hours of therapy per day that incorporated aquatic therapy, supervised kayaking in the hospital’s pool, and training on the Lokomat—technology that helps Bryn Mawr Rehab patients learn to walk again.
