Main Line Health is proud to celebrate a remarkable milestone: the graduation of the 50th class of Family Medicine residents. Since its founding in 1974, the Family Medicine Residency Program at Bryn Mawr Hospital has upheld a strong tradition of academic and clinical excellence, as well as a deep commitment to community-based care. From its earliest days, the program has focused on developing well-rounded family physicians prepared to serve as both medical experts and trusted partners in health for patients of all ages.

With a focus on both education and patient-centered care, the program blends hands-on clinical experience with robust academic learning. Residents train across a range of settings — from their ambulatory practice center to inpatient hospital services — gaining the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to lead in today’s evolving healthcare landscape.

More than just a training program, the Family Medicine Residency Program has long served as a pipeline for talent, bringing new physicians into Main Line Health and local practices throughout the region. Many graduates stay to practice locally, contributing to the health and well-being of the very community where they trained.

The program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. It offers residents the best of both worlds: access to cutting-edge medical education and the opportunity to care for patients in a close-knit, community-focused environment.

As we celebrate this 50-year milestone, Main Line Health is filled with gratitude for the faculty, staff and residents — past and present — who have made this program such a success. Their dedication ensures that the tradition of excellence continues for the next generation of family physicians.
