Lankenau Medical Center, Paoli Hospital and Bryn Mawr Hospital named among World’s Best Hospitals by Newsweek
Lankenau Medical Center, Bryn Mawr Hospital and Paoli Hospital, all part of Main Line Health, have been recognized by Newsweek among the World's Best Hospitals in its annual rankings for 2026. More than 2,500 hospitals were evaluated this year across 32 countries.
In Pennsylvania, Lankenau was ranked ninth (No. 131 nationally), Bryn Mawr 13th (No. 201 nationally) and Paoli 14th (No. 219 nationally) by the magazine, which based its analysis on recommendations of medical experts and various measures of patient experience and hospital quality. Newsweek also recognized all three acute care hospitals with Infection Prevention awards.
Lankenau Medical Center and Bryn Mawr Hospital also earned Newsweek's Patient Experience award, which recognizes hospitals that excel in communication, responsiveness, comfort and overall patient satisfaction.
Four data sources were used for the evaluation:
- Hospital quality metrics: patient safety, hygiene measures, waiting times and quality of treatment
- Existing patient experience data
- Recommendations from medical experts — including doctors, hospital managers and healthcare professionals
- Statista's Patient-Reported Outcome Measures Implementation survey
The recognition reflects the safe, high-quality care that the teams at Lankenau Medical Center, Paoli Hospital and Bryn Mawr Hospital deliver each day and reaffirms our commitment to delivering exceptional care close to home for the communities we serve.
