Bryn Mawr Hospital, Lankenau Medical Center nationally ranked for cancer care

Bryn Mawr, PA — Bryn Mawr Hospital and Lankenau Medical Center, both part of Main Line Health, have been ranked by Newsweek as among America’s Best Cancer Hospitals 2023.
Bryn Mawr placed 139th in the annual Newsweek rankings, including the ninth-highest ranking in Pennsylvania, and received special commendation for its breast cancer care. Lankenau was ranked 151st nationwide and 12th in the Keystone State. Only 175 hospitals overall made the list.

“This honor from Newsweek for cancer care, particularly for breast cancer, is a meaningful one for us,” said John Schwarz, Bryn Mawr Hospital President and executive leader for Main Line Health Cancer Care. “Being diagnosed with cancer is a frightening time for individuals, with breast cancer the most common type for women outside of skin cancers. There are constantly new developments, and we strive to ensure patients benefit from them with personalized treatment. Our skilled team works every day toward diagnosing cancer as early as possible and providing superior care in a compassionate, effective way.”
“This recognition is significant as it reflects not only from the opinions of health care professionals and patients but measurable data,” Lankenau Medical Center President Katie Galbraith said. “We couldn’t be prouder of our entire oncology team. We offer a wide array of cancer care, including the newest immunotherapy and targeted therapy treatments, and our patients know they can count on us to listen and provide the attention and understanding they deserve.”
The America's Best Cancer Hospitals ranking was created to provide patients and family members with a comprehensive resource for informed decision-making. The underlying data analysis was based on three data sources: a nationwide online survey of healthcare professionals and hospital managers with knowledge about oncology, hospital quality metrics with a focus on indicators relevant to cancer care, and results from hospital patient surveys.
