Established to meet the needs of our community, the Women’s Emotional Wellness Center (WEWC) is located in Newtown Square in the western suburbs of Philadelphia. Our building is nestled on Ellis Preserve where ample parking and a serene, tree-lined campus await you.

Treatment services offered at the WEWC:

  • Women’s intensive outpatient program
  • Individual therapy for parenting women
  • The Nest Program (pre- and postnatal support) for women and families before, during and after pregnancy or adoption
  • Marital counseling
  • Group therapy

Women’s intensive outpatient program

The Women’s Emotional Wellness Center provides a women’s intensive outpatient program (IOP) for adult female patients ages 18 and older, whose mental health symptoms require more care than weekly psychotherapy, but do not require the intensity of partial hospitalization. Our intensive outpatient program provides superior health treatment for women, by women.

In a supportive group environment, we’ll work with you on a range of issues, including:

  • Depression and anxiety
  • Self-esteem
  • Self-care
  • Trauma
  • Grief and loss
  • Communication
  • Roles and responsibilities
  • Societal pressures on women
  • Emotional eating habits

Participants in the program are in treatment with other women from diverse backgrounds, ages, ethnicities and experiences. Together, with guidance from the group leader, this diversity fosters learning, sharing and growing.

The IOP consists of group therapy three days a week and is unique compared to area programs in that it is exclusively for women.

If you are interested in our women’s IOP, you will first be scheduled for a screening appointment to determine if IOP is right for you. To schedule your screening, please call 1.888.CARE.898 (1.888.227.3898).
