Located in Media, PA, our detox center and addiction treatment programs have supported recovery for more than 40 years through Mirmont Treatment Center, part of Main Line Health. We understand what you’re facing, and we’re here to offer you evidence-based treatment that puts your recovery first and the clinical excellence you expect from one of the region’s most trusted health systems.

Our multidisciplinary team of physicians, therapists, nurses and addiction specialists collaborate to create personalized treatment plans tailored to your unique needs. We treat alcohol and drug addiction and dependency, co-occurring mental health conditions and provide a full continuum of services designed to support lasting recovery.

Our convenient location is designed to make care as accessible as possible to our communities. We are in-network with most major insurance plans and provide transportation services to ensure you can get to the care you need. From Philadelphia and East – Take I-95 South to I-476 approximately 6.6 miles from Philadelphia toward Plymouth Meeting (Exit 5). Take Route 1 South toward Lima onto Route 352 North for approximately 1.5 miles and turn left on Yearsley Mill Road. Entrance is 0.3 miles past Penn State campus on left. (Via Route 76 use City Line exit, Route 1 South, approximately 13.5 miles.)

From the Pennsylvania Turnpike and North – Take PA Turnpike to Exit 20 (Mid-County); proceed south onto I-476 South toward Chester. Take Exit 5 onto Route 1 South toward Lima then Route 352 North for approximately 1.5 miles. Turn left on Yearsley Mill Road. Entrance is 0.3 miles past Penn State campus on left. (Via Route 76 use City Line exit, Route 1 South, approximately 13.5 miles.)

By bus or train:

From Center City Philadelphia and West to Media

By train: From Philadelphia's 30th Street Station, Suburban Station, or Jefferson Station, take SEPTA's Regional Rail Media/Elwyn Line to Elwyn. Then take bus route 117 going to Penn State, get off at Penn State and then walk 0.3 miles — about 6 minutes — through campus to Yearsley Mill Road to get to the treatment center.

By subway and bus: Take the Market-Frankford elevated line (the "El") to the 69th Street terminal, and transfer to the 110 or 111 bus to Penn State and then walk 0.3 miles — about 6 minutes — through campus to Yearsley Mill Road to get to the treatment center.

From the airport

The SEPTA Regional Rail Airport Line runs from the Philadelphia International Airport to 30th Street Station, where you can take SEPTA's Regional Rail Media/Elwyn Line to Elwyn. Then take bus route 117 going to Penn State, get off at Penn State and then walk 0.3 miles — about 6 minutes — through campus to Yearsley Mill Road to get to the treatment center.

Admissions to Mirmont Treatment Center are conducted 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Our admissions office is open Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. – 11 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. Our nursing team is available overnight.

Our admissions specialists will complete a brief phone assessment, verify insurance and review any out-of-pocket costs that may be associated with your benefits. We will answer all questions you have and ensure you can make an informed decision about your treatment options. All information is kept confidential and there is no obligation when you call.

During office hours, our admissions staff can provide you with all the information you will need to make a good treatment choice. Our representatives will answer all questions you may have regarding the admissions process, which includes a thorough assessment of your treatment options, a review of financial and insurance issues and a determination of transportation needs. All information is kept confidential.

What to pack

  • To make your stay as comfortable as possible, you should bring:
  • Appropriate, loose-fitting clothes and sneakers for yoga and use of fitness center
  • Seasonal outerwear
  • Toiletries (alcohol free)
  • Reading material (self-help, spiritual, health, 12-step)
  • If you choose to bring personal bedding items such as pillows or blankets, items must be brand new and in their original store packaging.

Patients are not permitted to use cell phones or other electronic equipment. We suggest that such items be left at home.

What should I bring when starting rehab at Mirmont Treatment Center?

Pack for comfort and healing:

  • 5–7 days of comfortable clothing (including fitness wear and sneakers for yoga and gym exercises)
  • Seasonal outerwear
  • Toiletries (alcohol-free, non-aerosol)
  • Photo ID, insurance/pharmacy cards, vaccination card (if applicable)
  • Prescription medications (ask staff which to bring)
  • Personal items (books, photos of loved ones, etc.)
  • Cigarettes (new/unopened), disposable vapes (new/sealed) or spitless tobacco pouches

What items are not allowed at Mirmont Treatment Center?

For safety and confidentiality, please do not bring:

  • Alcohol-based products, unauthorized medications, or open tobacco/vape products
  • Weapons, scissors or other sharp objects
  • Electronics (cell phones, laptops, smart watches, gaming devices, etc.)
  • Aerosols or chemical hair products
  • Revealing/explicit clothing or anything promoting drugs/alcohol
  • Food, beverages or magazines from outside
  • Bedding unless new and in original packaging
  • Cameras
  • Tanning products

Staff will safely store all electronics and restricted items.

How can I stay in touch with my loved ones during addiction treatment?

For everyone’s safety, in-person visitation is currently paused. Families may drop off items, send mail or packages and connect by phone or video.

Is Mirmont Treatment Center co-ed?

Men and women participate in treatment together (co-ed), with separate residential wings. Gender-specific groups are part of the schedule.

Can I bring my pet to Mirmont during my treatment?

For safety, pets are not permitted on Mirmont's campus.
