Dr. Murray is an expert in spinal surgery and has dedicated his career to the advancement and performance of minimally invasive spinal surgery of the lumbar and cervical spine. He is a nationally recognized leader in lateral lumbar surgery (LLIF/XLIF), a minimally invasive technique that has a number of benefits over traditional spinal surgery. More experience leads to better outcomes. Dr. Murray has extensive experience in lateral lumbar surgery and draws patients from throughout the East Coast.Prior to joining Main Line Health, Dr. Murray served as a specialist in minimally invasive spine surgery with the University of Pennsylvania. He has been selected as a 'Top Doc' by Main Line Today, Philadelphia Magazine as well as Castle Connolly. He teaches other surgeons throughout the country the latest minimally invasive surgery techniques and he is involved in research and the development of new spinal instrumentation and procedures. Dr. Murray previously served as a member of the medical team of the NFL Baltimore Ravens.While Dr. Murray is an expert in spinal surgery, he will always ensure that all non-surgical treatment options have been exhausted before surgery is offered as an option.
