Patient Preparation

Some laboratory procedures require patient preparation. This may include:

• Dietary restrictions
• Special precautions
• Special collection timing

Fasting is not required for most tests. We advise our providers to consult the specific test requested in the Directory of Services on Wellspring, the Epic Procedure Catalog or the Patient Preparation Guide (PDF) to determine the need for preparation on the part of your patient.
