Donna Phillips
When the road is long, the smallest moments become the greatest milestones. This couldn’t be any more true than here at Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital, where our mission is to help patients regain their independence no matter how catastrophic the illness or injury. In fact, we have a long and proud heritage with more than 40 years as a leader in the field, including over 30 as a nationally renowned brain injury center, with patient outcomes consistently strong and a progressive reputation for making the impossible, possible.

Selecting a rehabilitation provider is one of the most crucial decisions a person can make for a loved one. Our patients and families often notice something here that made the decision for them: an entire team of demanding and highly specialized rehab professionals armed with an unusual blend of expertise and compassion, the kind prescribed for people at their most vulnerable condition.

Our tirelessly creative approach to getting our patients back to the lives they want is the palpable difference of this institution. Our specialized units, gyms and therapy rooms are outfitted with leading-edge equipment—everything from the Lokomat robotic ambulation device to the SMART EquiTest system. But even the most advanced technologies are only as good as the hands and hearts operating them. We pride ourselves on constantly finding new treatment opportunities to summon the skills elusive to patients in acute crisis by finding personalized ways to motivate those who have given up hope.

We could not begin to meet these challenges without the dedication of dozens of volunteers who provide more than 15,000 hours of service each year, and the financial support of so many benefactors.

Bryn Mawr Rehab is a beacon of recovery in our community as well. Not only do we provide seamless care for patients from the four acute-care hospitals in the Main Line Health system and are considered a destination sought nationwide by loved ones of patients with traumatic injuries, but Bryn Mawr Rehab represents a commitment to the mentality of progress and prevention right in our neighborhood. Many active recovery support groups, a robust outpatient rehabilitation program, a juried art show of work created by artists living with disabilities, an award-winning impaired driving prevention program and a vocational training program for adults with disabilities all continue to position Bryn Mawr Rehab as a top resource for progress and recovery at all stages.

We are inspired each day by amazing success stories and are privileged to be able make a difference in so many lives.

Sincerely,

Donna M. Phillips
