Andrew DeMichele, MD, FACS

I am a broad-based general surgeon who specializes in advanced laparoscopic surgery. I use these minimally invasive surgical techniques to treat many common disorders of the abdomen and gastrointestinal (GI) tract, such as: Abdominal and groin hernias Appendicitis Bowel obstruction Colon polyps and colon cancer Diverticulitis Gallstones Surgically, I also treat common skin and soft tissue disorders, including most skin cancers. Additionally, I have expertise in techniques used to evaluate the abdomen and GI tract, including upper endoscopy, colonoscopy, and diagnostic laparoscopy. I joined Main Line Health in 2022, after more than 20 years practicing in different parts of the greater Philadelphia region. It is an honor and a pleasure to serve patients in the community I have called home for most of my life. I grew up in Gladwyne and have lived on the Main Line since completing medical school and general surgery training at medical institutions in Philadelphia. My Main Line Health practice at Bryn Mawr Hospital also has special significance for me. My father, who I followed into the field and practice of general surgery, did his surgery training at Bryn Mawr Hospital.
