Professional Continuing Education
Remaining Seats:
40
Cost:
$150.00

This lab-based course is designed for occupational therapists, occupational therapy assistants, physical therapists, and physical therapist assistants who want to expand their knowledge of contemporary prosthetic care and rehabilitation.

Participants will explore the latest advancements in prosthetic technology through an interdisciplinary lens, gaining insight into collaborative clinical decision-making among therapists, physiatrists, prosthetists, and patients. This course provides a foundation in prosthetic gait mechanics, K-level classifications, and the functional capabilities of non-microprocessor, microprocessor, and bionic prosthetic components.

Through interactive case studies and practical application, attendees will learn to evaluate gait impairments, differentiate prosthetic versus patient-related movement limitations, develop targeted intervention strategies to improve function and gait mechanics, and select objective outcome measures to support patient progress and reimbursement justification.

Participants will be awarded 5.25 contact hours for occupational therapy and physical therapy.
