Single incision laparoscopic surgery, also known as single key-hole surgery, provides an even less invasive approach to minimally invasive surgery.
Conventional laparoscopic surgery typically requires the insertion of a tiny video camera and several thin instruments through a few small incisions. With single key-hole surgery, the surgeon operates almost exclusively through a single incision, typically in the patient's naval. By using the single-incision and traditional laparoscopic techniques, Main Line Health offers patients many options and benefits over traditional surgeries.
