Greek yogurt veggie dip

Greek yogurt veggie dip

There are a number of healthy ingredient swaps we can make in the kitchen to reduce saturated fat, added sugar and sodium intake. From making mock mashed potatoes to trying your hand at an at-home golden milk latte, the possibilities for healthy swaps are endless.

And with so many options out there, you might not know quiet where to start. So, start with one swap at a time. As you get comfortable with one swap, add another. You'll be more likely to stick with healthy changes when you don't overwhelm yourself with trying too many at once.

A great one to start with is substituting plain non-fat Greek yogurt for ingredients like sour cream, mayonnaise and heavy cream. You'll benefit from Greek yogurt's higher protein content and, if you're sensitive to lactose, you may benefit from the yogurt's lower lactose levels.

Put this healthy swap into practice with a simple veggie dip recipe:

Ingredients

  • 1 cup plain non-fat Greek yogurt
  • 3/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried dill
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Directions

Combine all ingredients in a bowl and enjoy with your favorite cut veggies! You can even use this as a creamy dressing for salads.
