Cranberry walnut green salad dish

This salad recipe is the perfect blend of sweet, tangy and crunchy. It brings together crisp seasonal apples, chewy, sweet dried-cranberries and crunchy walnuts for a delightful dish that is packed with flavor and health benefits. 
 
Apples are known for their high fiber content, which aids digestion and helps you feel fuller longer. They're also a good source of vitamin C, which supports the immune system. Dried cranberries also contain vitamin C plus vitamin E — we suggest using the 50% less sugar variety to reduce the amount of added sugar.  

And let’s not forget about the walnuts! Besides adding great flavor and texture to the salad, they provide protein and healthy fats-specifically those heart healthy omega-3's. Combining these nutritional powerhouses in a salad offers a delightful experience for both your palate and your health. Whether you're looking to enjoy a light lunch or a refreshing side dish, this salad is easy to prepare and perfect for any occasion. 

Apple cranberry salad

Ingredients:

  • 1 medium head of lettuce (about 10 cups)
  • 2 medium apples, sliced
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 cup dried cranberries
  • 1/2 cup green onions, sliced
  • 3/4 cup vinaigrette dressing

Instructions:

  • Wash hands with soap and water.
  • Toss lettuce, apples, walnuts, cranberries, and onions in a large bowl.
  • Add dressing; toss to coat. Serve immediately. Makes 8 servings.
