Since the announcement of Hahnemann University Hospital’s closure—one of the largest hospital closures in our region to date, displacing thousands of employees—Main Line Health swiftly acted to assist staff and physicians who were impacted. Shortly after the closure, the Main Line Health team spoke to hundreds of physicians, nurses, residents, program managers and other employees at Hahnemann to find roles within the organization that would be a good match.
The team has hired more than 130 new colleagues across the system, many of whom have shared their excitement, thanks, and how welcomed they have felt since coming on board at Main Line Health.
“I was anxious about starting over. But from day one, I couldn’t have asked for a better team to be part of.”
When speaking about how her transition from Hahnemann to Main Line Health felt seamless, Kimberly Uhll, BSN, RN, a newly hired nurse at Lankenau Medical Center, shared that the support she felt from management, preceptors, coworkers, and even patients, has been overwhelming. “I was anxious about starting over. But from day one, I couldn’t have asked for a better team to be part of. It’s made me feel welcome, and has really put my mind at ease, knowing I am surrounded by great people, who truly care about others, and are proud of where they work,” Uhll said.
