1/2 cup of nonfat milk
3/4 cup of water
1/2 cup of old-fashioned oats
Pinch of cinnamon
Pinch of nutmeg
1/4 cup of canned pumpkin
2 tablespoons of oven-roasted almonds, no salt
Splenda, sugar or natural sweetener to taste
1/4 cup of water
1 scoop of vanilla protein powder
1. In a small pot, bring milk and water to a boil over medium heat. Add oatmeal, cinnamon and nutmeg. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer until liquid is absorbed, about 7 to 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
2. Once the liquid is absorbed, stir in pumpkin, almonds and sweetener (if desired). Set aside.
3. Combine water and protein powder in a separate bowl. Mix with a fork until protein is dissolved.
4. Pour protein mixture over oatmeal and serve.
