Pastoral/spiritual care/meditation room
Chaplains, who are spiritual care professionals, provide religious, spiritual and emotional support to persons of any or no religious tradition. Some of the ways care is provided includes empathetic listening, crisis or brief pastoral counseling, guided meditation, spiritual resources such as religious texts, supportive care surrounding difficult decisions, prayer and sacramental support. Chaplains are also able to help with special dietary needs related to faith, culture or tradition and can help patients honor rites and rituals specific to their own traditions.
