Dr. Evans’ chief area of clinical expertise is diagnosis and treatment of thoracic malignancies. She is highly experienced in multidisciplinary management of both small and non-small cell lung cancer in patients with or without a smoking history, with extensive knowledge about the use of traditional cytotoxic chemotherapies, oral targeted medical therapies, and immunotherapy. She pays particular attention to the management of disease and treatment-related complications to ensure optimal treatment intensity and patient quality of life. She also has expertise in the treatment of thymic malignancies and well-differentiated neuroendocrine tumors of the lung.
As co-director of the thoracic oncology program at Lankenau Medical Center, Dr. Evans will play a key role in Lankenau’s multidisciplinary lung tumor team, contributing to regular discussions about patients under the team’s care as well as treatment planning meetings with newly diagnosed patients and their families. She is dedicated to helping patients get the best-possible treatment targeted to their specific type of cancer and to bringing hope to patients and their families. Her greatest reward is seeing patients doing well and living their lives several years after a diagnosis of lung cancer, something that is now possible even for some patients diagnosed with metastatic disease.
