Practice Philosophy

My goal in practice is to capture every opportunity. If a child sprains her ankle, I want her to understand how we are going to make this better. I also like to empower the child to work hard to recover from an injury while providing a few life tools. Any opportunity to talk about good nutrition, exercise, and healthy weight is one not to be missed!

About Louise R. Nichols, MD

I started working in healthcare in high school. I really have never left. I laugh to think that I have performed most typical jobs in the clinic setting. My real career in medicine began as SICU nurse at Johns Hopkins Hospital. I loved being a nurse, but wanted the opportunity to be in the operating room. During medical school, I looked carefully at who was happiest in their career in 20 years of practice. Orthopaedics. And here I am, taking care of amazing kids, straightening legs, getting them back to the playing fields, equalizing limb lengths. I am a very lucky person!
