Dr. Gilbert, a New Jersey native, has a B.S. in biology with a minor in Philosophy from Muhlenberg College. He received his D.O. from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey where he later served as Chief Medical Resident after completing his residency training in Internal Medicine. After finishing his infectious disease fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, he joined Delaware Valley I.D. Associates where he has been committed to providing top notch care for patients. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases. He is a member of the American Medical Association, the Infectious Disease Society of America, the Pennsylvania Medical Society, the American Osteopathic Association, and the American College of Osteopathic Internists. Dr. Gilbert works as the Chairman of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee at Chestnut Hill Hospital where he is Chief of Infectious Diseases. He is also the Chairman of the Infection Control Committee at Lankenau Medical Center. He is highly dedicated to teaching. He is the Lankenau Medical Center site director for the Infectious Disease Fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. He is a clinical instructor in medicine at Thomas Jefferson University and a clinical assistant professor of Medicine at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He is chair of Infectious Disease for the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine. He has received multiple awards for his work in medical education. Outside of work he enjoys spending time with his family and playing tennis and basketball with his colleagues and two sons.
