  • Eat real foods that nourish your body—avoid the processed stuff
  • When reading food labels:
    • The less ingredients the better
    • If you can’t pronounce it, put it back
    • Avoid foods containing sugar or hydrogenated fats in the ingredient list
  • Visit a farmers market and eat one locally sourced meal a week
  • Plant a garden
  • If you are hungry fill up of veggies—raw veggies are especially filling and high in fiber…sky is the limit!
  • Eat high fiber foods with at least 3 grams of fiber per serving
  • Cut out juices/soda as it is empty calories—steep a flavored tea and chill it for a calorie free tasty beverage
  • Increase your water intake: it is beneficial for bowel regularity and weight loss
  • Eat less meat, more fruits and veggies and always aim for a colorful plate
  • Have one meatless meal a week
  • Cook at home at least three times a week
  • Have a salad with your meal
  • Don’t skip meals
  • Eat slowly and listen to your body so you know when you are full
  • Try chop sticks to slow down your food intake
  • Put down your fork between bites
  • Have a sip of water between bites
