St. Charles Property

Overview

Main Line Health owns the former St. Charles Borromeo Seminary property in Lower Merion Township. Since acquiring the campus in 2019 from the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. We have remained committed to being thoughtful stewards of this historic property while working collaboratively with Township officials and community stakeholders as we evaluate its future.

Current planning and development status

Main Line Health continues to work with Lower Merion Township as discussions and planning for the future of the property progress.

At this time, no development plans have been approved. As planning continues, we remain committed to providing updates as appropriate and engaging with the community throughout the process.

Project updates

July 17, 2026 — Main Line Health submitted a Petition and proposed Ordinance Amendment to Lower Merion Township as part of the ongoing planning process for the St. Charles property. The submission initiates the Township's review process and does not represent approval of a final development plan.
