Wedge Prep: Assessment of drug candidates’ cardiac QT liability
Before new drug candidates can be tested in humans, it is critical to assess whether they will provoke an irregular heart rhythm. Gan-Xin Yan, MD, PhD, has pioneered a method called "wedge prep" that uses slices of heart tissue from the adult ventricle of a rabbit to deliver quick, accurate testing.
Office of Research Protections
The mission of the Office of Research Protections (ORP) is to forge a partnership with the Main Line Health research community to conduct safe and ethical research.
