Dr. Livornese earned his B.A. from Lafayette College after which he pursued graduate work at the Rutgers University School of Chemistry. He received his M.D. from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and completed his internal medicine residency and infectious disease fellowship at the Medical College of Pennsylvania. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases. He also holds a certificate in travel medicine from the International Society of Travel Medicine. He is a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at the Sidney Kimmel Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University and a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at Drexel University School of Medicine. Since 2012 Dr. Livornese has served as the System Chairman of Medicine for Main Line Health and he also is the holder of Dorrance H. Hamilton Chair in Medicine. He is a member of MLH Medical Executive Committee and the Pharmacy and Therapeutic Committee for Main Line Health as well as the Board of Trustees for the Lankenau Medical Center Institute for Medical Research. He is a member of the Philadelphia Medical Society, the Pennsylvania Medical Society, the American Medical Association, the International Society of Travel Medicine and a Fellow of the Infectious Disease Society of America and the American College of Physicians. He has been named a "Top Doc" by U.S. News and World Report for his ongoing commitment to outstanding patient care. He enjoys spending time outdoors and has devoted his free time as a scout leader for the Boy Scouts of America. In recognition of his work, he was awarded a Scoutmaster Award of Merit. He has been caring for patients with Delaware Valley I.D. Associates since 1991.
