Our Emergency Department’s Fast Track Program
(Think EZ Pass®)
At Paoli, we realize that not all emergencies are
the same. For your convenience we offer 6 fast track rooms, where
patients will be quickly seen and properly treated for less serious
conditions including but not limited to:

Minor cuts and lacerations

Sprains and simple fractures

Sore throat

Uncomplicated urinary tract Infections (UTI)

Cough with no other symptoms

Simple eye injury

Animal bites
A Multidisciplinary, Expert Team with Access to
Advanced Technology
Our emergency team includes emergency medicine physicians and surgeons,
Magnet® nurses, physician assistants, anesthesiologists, and specially
trained staff. When visiting the emergency department at Paoli, you may
be seen by a physician specializing in emergency medicine, a nurse
practitioner or physician assistant. Nurse practitioners have graduate
degrees in nursing and can diagnose, treat and manage disease, perform
physical exams, order procedures and lab tests, write prescriptions and
perform certain procedures including some biopsies. Physician assistants
work with physicians to provide a variety of services.
Paoli Hospital was one of 20 recipients
nationwide—and the only hospital in the Philadelphia area—to receive the
Emergency Nurses Association “Lantern Award” for exemplary emergency
care, as well as exceptional and innovative leadership, education,
advocacy and research.
In an emergency every second counts. With laboratory and pharmacy
services onsite, our staff can receive results and provide medications
to patients faster. Convenient access to our 64-slice CT, Xray rooms and
MRI suite also enables our staff to obtain advanced images more quickly.
