A matter of balance: Managing concerns about falls
Do you have concerns about falling? Many older adults express concerns about falling and restricting their activities. A matter of balance is an award-winning program designed to manage falls and increase activity levels.
This program covers topics including: exploring thoughts and concerns about falling, exercise and fall prevention, assertiveness and fall prevention, managing concerns about falling and more.
Matter of Balance is a free eight-session course offered by Lankenau Medical Center and Paoli Hospital Trauma programs. Participants must commit to attending all sessions. Registration is required.

Healthy steps for older adults
Do you have concerns about falling? Endorsed by the Pennsylvania Department of Aging, healthy steps for older adults (HSOA) is a falls risk awareness program for individuals 50 years of age or older. This program covers: an individual fall risk screening, recognizing fall hazards in the home and community, steps on how to reduce falls, healthy eating and exercise and more.
In this one hour session, participants will learn how to stay independent by using strategies that focus on fall prevention. This class points out common safety hazards in the home, the importance of exercise, and the other factors that lead to falls.
