Practice Philosophy

Gabrielle earned her Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Villanova University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Rutgers University. She is a National Certified Counselor and a member of the American Counseling Association. It was in her undergraduate studies she discovered her interest in human behavior and cognitive functioning, and in her graduate studies where she began to strengthen her skills in patient advocating and clinical therapy. Gabrielle's therapeutic approach consists of empathy, genuineness, and unconditional positive regard. Her goal is to meet patients where they are—emotionally, mentally, spiritually—and help them reach their highest potential through collaboration and goal consensus. She encourages patient strength and individuality. Gabrielle brings her energy and positivity to counseling, and she incorporates creativity in her treatment because she understands counseling is not a uniform approach. She considers herself a therapist, an advocate, and an educator. Her practicing modalities include cognitive behavior therapy, person-centered therapy, motivation interviewing, and solution-focused therapy. Gabrielle has worked with diverse populations, in both outpatient and inpatient settings, with multiple diagnoses. She fosters a respectful and safe environment for each client, while building a working alliance through honesty and discretion.
