Practice Philosophy

Amanda earned her Bachelor of Science in Behavioral Science from Wilmington University and continued on to Fayetteville State University to earn her master’s degree in social work with a focus on mental health and substance use disorders. She has spent most of her career in residential facilities but has also had the privilege of working in a variety of clinical settings, including crisis intervention, young adult intensive outpatient, and child welfare. Amanda employs a client-centered approach utilizing mindfulness, solution-focused therapy, motivational interviewing, and cognitive behavioral techniques in group and individual settings. She is passionate about creating an environment that supports clients in exploring their own need for change and achieving it.
