The BIPOC Sisters’ Circle Group

The BIPOC Sisters' Circle Group is a therapy group for women who identify as Black, Indigenous, or Person of Color (BIPOC). It is designed to promote diversity and inclusivity by providing a safe space where women from all walks of life can process mental health challenges. The group seeks to create an intentional community that offers solidarity, understanding, and support by amplifying voices of marginalized communities of color while exploring ways to implement self-care and emotional wellness strategies within the patient's cultural identity.

BIPOC is an "open" group, meaning patients can attend following referral at any time without commitment. While there is this flexibility, we do recommend regular attendance to allow you regular support. Past group patients have shared the more they attended, the better it was for their emotional well-being.

Join the BIPOC group to:

  • Receive emotional support and to process the intersection of racial identity and women's mental health while embracing the many diverse cultures throughout the area.
  • Implement strategies of self-care that integrates emotional wellness, racial literacy, self-advocacy and self-acceptance.
  • Challenge the stigma surrounding mental health within the member's identified culture and our community at large.
  • Utilize our virtual platform which allows you to participate from the comfort of your own home.

The BIPOC group is currently held virtually:

  • Biweekly on Thursdays from 5:30–7:00 pm

If you are a new patient looking to schedule, please call 1.888.CARE.898 (227.3898) to schedule a group evaluation to start our services. After your group evaluation, you will receive a Zoom link and may join the group at any time.

If you are current patient of the WEWC, please discuss referral to group with your treating provider and whether evaluation is needed prior. The evaluation allows you to comprehensively discuss your treatment needs with a member of our clinical team and to ensure that the group is the best way to meet those identified needs.
