Interventional treatment study for patients diagnosed with carotid artery stenosis

Study ID: CONFIDENCE

Evaluation of the Roadsaver stent used in conjunction with the Nanoparasol embolic protection system for carotid artery stenosis

This clinical study is evaluating the safety and effectiveness of a particular arterial stent, the MicroVention Inc. Roadsaver™ Carotid Stent System, used in conjunction with the Nanoparasol® embolic protection system for the interventional treatment of carotid artery stenosis, which develops when the carotid artery becomes blocked or narrowed due to plaque buildup.

This trial is for patients at risk of adverse events following carotid endarterectomy, i.e., surgical removal of part of the inner lining of an artery. Participants will be expected to complete follow-up visits for up to 36 months post procedure.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of the MicroVention, Inc. Roadsaver™ carotid stent system used in conjunction with Nanoparasol® embolic protection system for the treatment of carotid artery stenosis in patients at elevated risk for adverse events from carotid endarterectomy. This is a non-randomized, single-arm study. Patients are being enrolled at up to 40 sites and will be followed for 36 months post procedure.

Inclusion Snapshot

  • Must have been diagnosed with carotid artery stenosis
