Clinical responsibilities

The ideal candidate must be fellowship trained in surgical oncology and have a minimum of five (5) years of experience. The surgeon will have a system wide role for ambulatory services and tumor boards; operations will be performed at Lankenau Medical Center and Bryn Mawr Hospital. Our facilities have a robust multi-disciplinary approach in oncology and the successful candidate will become part of a well-coordinated team. Experience as a minimally invasive surgeon is required.

Our expectations for clinical care do not include general surgery call; candidates interested in acute care surgery in addition to surgical oncology can be accommodated.

Scholarly activity

Main Line Health System has a General Surgery Residency based at Lankenau Medical Center. The successful candidate will become part of the teaching faculty. A leadership role in the residency may be considered for a candidate with a track record in education; the opportunity to develop expertise in surgical education may be considered as part of the faculty appointment.

Our research arm in basic, outcomes, and clinical trials is housed in Lankenau Institute for Medical Research (LIMR). Opportunities are available for appointment to LIMR as research faculty and for seed funding to initiate research projects.

Our academic partner is Thomas Jefferson University; the successful candidate will be supported in application for clinical faculty appointment.
