The Lankenau Medical Center Department of Surgery, Division of Cardiac Surgery is seeking to recruit a highly motivated critical care provider, to serve our high volume cardiac surgery program. We are looking for a qualified physician to join our service to perform 100 percent critical care duties on pre- and postoperative care of cardiac surgical patients in our 16-bed CT ICU and 16-bed postoperative cardiac surgical telemetry floor. Our cardiac surgical volume has experienced significant growth in the past two years and additional expansion is expected. The ideal candidates will work in collaboration with an in-house team of acute care mid level providers assuring round-the-clock patient care coverage.
- Experience and new fellowship candidates considered
- Candidates are preferably trained in anesthesiology, cardiac surgery and have completed advanced training in fields relevant to critical care medicine
- Must be board-certified/board-eligible in their primary field
- Be eligible for a Full Medical Licensure in the State of Pennsylvania prior to appointment
Lead daily multidisciplinary rounds on all patients admitted to the ICU. The intensivists are expected to provide critical care and build strong collaborative team relationship with cardiac surgeons, referring cardiologists and consulting physicians, as well as actively participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives. Intensivists with strong clinical focus play an important role in teaching as well as clinical research. Protocols have resulted in documented improved patient outcomes while providing superior patient experience.
Critical care services are primarily in the CT ICU, and postoperative cardiac surgical telemetry floor, or in response to “Rapid Response Team” alerts or in the ED for patients on cardiac surgery service.
