Stefan T. Tachev, MD

Dr. Stefan Tachev is a Clinical Nephrologist with a special interest in kidney stones, secondary hyperparathyroidism, critical care nephrology, glomerulonephritides, anemia of kidney disease, chronic kidney disease, hypertension. Dr. Tachev graduated summa cum laude from the Medical University of Sofia, Bulgaria, EU in 1995 and was awarded the Golden Medal for Best Graduating Student. After a year in the military as a Chief of Unit Infirmary, he worked for three years as a Clinical Toxicologist in the National Institute of Emergency Medicine in Sofia, Bulgaria, EU. He completed an internal medicine residency and a nephrology fellowship and served as chief medical resident and chief nephrology fellow at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, PA. He then remained on staff at Hahnemann University Hospital through 2008. In 2009 he joined Clinical Renal Associates - a nephrology practice in Chester and Delaware County. Dr. Tachev is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, the American Society of Nephrology, the National Kidney Foundation, the Renal Physician Association, the Canadian Society of Nephrology, the International Society of Nephrology, the European Renal Association-European Dialysis and Transplantation Association, the Pennsylvania Medical Society and the Chester County Medical Society.
