Bob Denitzio, MD, was born in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, and is a magna cum laude graduate of Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. He obtained his medical degree at Georgetown Medical School in Washington, D.C., and completed his family medicine and chief family medicine residency at the United Hospital Center in Clarksburg, West Virginia. He completed a two-year fellowship at the University of Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine and in 2014 became board-certified in integrative medicine. Dr. Denitzio is also board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.
Dr. Denitzio is an established and highly skilled physician with over 30 years’ experience in integrative and family medicine. After residency, he began his professional career in the small town of Cecilton, Maryland, and grew this practice to 18 providers and three office locations. He also served as medical staff president at Union Hospital in Elkton, Maryland. In 2002 he established a successful primary care practice in West Grove, Pennsylvania, and in 2006 he joined Mill Creek Medical Associates, Wilmington, Delaware.
In 2008, Dr. Denitzio returned to Pennsylvania and was engaged by Jennersville Regional Hospital as a primary care physician. He developed an interest in the promise of alternative forms of medical care beyond just prescription medicines, and became more aware of the abilities of body and mind to help or harm our health. These interests led him to actively investigate complementary and alternative medical treatments, and he began to work those concepts into his normal patient interactions. This solidified his decision to complete formal training in the discipline of integrative medicine and in completing the required coursework for functional medicine from the Institute of Functional Medicine.
In 2018, Main Line Health partnered with Dr. Denitzio to open an integrative and functional medicine office in Concordville, Pennsylvania. He has a special interest in:
- Dry needling of muscle trigger points for pain relief
- Women’s health
- Environmental health concerns
- Prevention of Alzheimer’s disease
- Proper nutrition
- Stress reduction
Dr. Denitzio sees patients 6 years of age and older. His passion is driven by the bonds he builds with his patients over the course of their lives and the enjoyment he holds in keeping them healthy and well.
He enjoys spending time with his family, playing piano, golfing, reading, writing, traveling, and is an avid Yankee and Phillies fan.
