Dr. Mathur was born and raised in New Jersey. She attended Montclair Kimberley Academy and received her BA/MD from Boston University's prestigious Seven-Year Accelerated Medical Program. She completed her residency and fellowship in gastroenterology at New York University where she focused on advanced endoscopy. Until recently, Dr. Mathur has been an associate professor of clinical medicine at Temple University School of Medicine, where she served as the associate director of endoscopic ultrasound and the medical director of the Gastrointestinal Tumor Board. She has served on numerous national committees and has lectured extensively in the area of endoscopic ultrasound and gastrointestinal oncology. Dr. Mathur joins Main Line Health as co-director of interventional endoscopy and will serve as an attending physician with Mainline Gastroenterology Associates. Dr. Mathur's practice specializes in endoscopic ultrasound/fine needle aspiration (EUS/FNA), endoscopic ultrasound/fine needle injection (EUS/FNI), advanced endoscopic techniques, EGD/dilation, endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR), gastrointestinal malignancy, pancreatic cysts and abnormal abdominal imaging. Dr. Mathur also provides services in general gastroenterology.
