Zinc reduces epithelial barrier compromise induced by human seminal plasma

Sexual transmission of HIV, the virus that causes AIDS, and HPV, the virus that causes cervical cancer, as well other STDs, may be reduced by zinc ingestion, according to new research from the lab of Lankenau Institute for Medical Research professor Jim Mullin, PhD, and his colleagues at St. Joseph’s University and Wistar.
