Riddle Hospital and its Associated Auxiliaries held its 57th annual premier fundraising event, on Saturday, April 9 at the Springfield Country Club. The traditional evening of entertainment, dinner and dancing was transformed, with a splash of Southern hospitality, combining a night at the races and a night on the town with a Kentucky Derby themed “Evening at the Races.”
A seafood extravaganza and Churchill Downs-inspired desserts accompanied the sounds of bluegrass, jazz and the cheers of wagering ticket-holders for simulated horse races. The races, titled Riddle Downs, prompted attendees to both name and wager on the virtual racehorses to win a family package of tickets to the Devon Horse Show.
“I could not be more proud of all the great work and incredible fundraising efforts being accomplished by the Associated Auxiliaries of Riddle Hospital,” said Gary Perecko, President, Riddle Hospital. “The efforts of the Associated Auxiliaries and The Riddle HealthCare Foundation at large have been invaluable, raising the necessary funds to enhance the programs and services that directly impact the superior care we provide at Riddle Hospital.”
The evening culminated with an awards presentation, a grand race prize drawing and the presentation of a $100,000 check from the Associated Auxiliaries, accepted by President Gary Perecko, on behalf of Riddle Hospital. Previous fundraising efforts by the Associated Auxiliaries have provided funding for the expansion of Riddle Hospital’s Emergency Department and the renovation of patient care units throughout the Hospital.
