Main Line HealthCare (MLHC) and Bryn Mawr Hospital are pleased to welcome Karl M. Ahlswede, MD to Pain and Palliative Care at Bryn Mawr Hospital on July 1, 2013. Dr.
Ahlswede is board certified in Hospice and Palliative Medicine, and was recognized in 2012 and 2013 as a Top Doctor in Palliative Care by U.S. News and World Report. He has been Medical Director of Palliative Care at Bryn Mawr Hospital since 2011, and Chair of the Bioethics Committee at Lankenau Medical Center since 2009. He earned his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, completed his general surgery residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, and a Fellowship in Cardiothoracic Surgery at Bryn Mawr Hospital. Dr. Ahlswede is also board certified in general surgery, and has been on staff at Main Line Health hospitals: Lankenau Medical Center, Bryn Mawr, Paoli and Riddle hospitals, since 1998. He is available as a
speaker for community events.
