Jerome Santoro, MD

A native of Philadelphia, Dr. Santoro graduated from Temple University after which he completed his MD and internal medicine residency at Temple University Hospital. He later trained at the Medical College of Pennsylvania as a fellow in Infectious Diseases. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases. He holds faculty positions at Thomas Jefferson University School of Medicine, Drexel University Hospital and at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He served as the Chairman of the Department of Medicine for Mainline Health, President of the Medical Staff and Chief of the Division of Infectious Diseases at Lankenau Medical Center. He is the recipient of numerous honors and awards including the national Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, the Dorrance H. Hamilton Department of Medicine Chair, the Physician's Recognition Award from the American Medical Association and "Top Doc" by Philadelphia Magazine for several years. He is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Society of Internal Medicine, the National Foundation for Infectious Diseases, and the Pennsylvania Society for Infectious Diseases. He is a Fellow of the Infectious Disease Society of America, the American College of Physicians, and the College of Physicians of Philadelphia. He has also served on the board of the Lankenau Institute for Medical Research, the Lankenau Medical Center Medical Foundation, and the Main Line Health Board, among others. Although, Dr. Santoro no longer sees patients in the outpatient setting, he continues to remain committed to medical education and plays an intricate role in training the numerous students, interns, residents, and fellows that complete rotations on our service at Lankenau Medical Center. Outside of work, Dr. Santoro loves to golf and spend time with his family.
