Elyse S. Rubenstein, MD

I have been in practice since 1989 I did my training at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, and have always worked in the Greater Philadelphia area. I see late adolescents and adults and treat the entire spectrum of Psychiatric problems from mood disorders, anxiety disorders, eating disorders, trauma and substance use disorders. I have a lot of experience dealing with women's issues throughout the reproductive cycle and have treated many patients with peripartum and postpartum psychiatric illness and am well versed in the literature on the use of psychiatric drugs during pregnancy and nursing. I have worked in every type of psychiatric/drug and alcohol treatment setting and across all levels of care. I have a vast amount of experience in the area of Addiction and have worked in both inpatient and outpatient levels of drug and alcohol treatment. I have also worked with patients with chronic severe mental illness in various settings and levels of care. I have a passion for animals and animal rescue and have six pets of my own. I have two young adult children who are training to work in the helping professions.
