Provider Bio

Christine Dehmey, LPC

Christine is a licensed professional counselor with clinical experience working among adolescents and adults in multiple outpatient mental health settings to include private practice, community mental health, intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization programs. Within these settings she has experience with individual, group, family and couple's counseling. Areas of specialty include anxiety, depression, adjustment, trauma, relationship difficulties, women's issues, and spirituality. Christine's primary treatment model is schema therapy that attempts to look at early unmet emotional needs and attachment patterns that contribute to current maladaptive schemas and unhealthy ways of coping. Schema draws from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychoanalytic theory, attachment theory and Gestalt therapy to help clients identify their core needs and feelings in order to get their emotional needs met in everyday life and have satisfying relationships and experiences. Christine also incorporates CBT, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) to support clients in their recovery.Christine received her undergraduate degree in psychology from Biola University and later received her Master of Arts in counseling from formerly Biblical Theological Seminary. Christine is currently in the process of obtaining her Advanced Level Certificate in Schema Therapy from the International Society of Schema Therapy. Christine is grateful for the opportunity to walk alongside women and help them courageously break through various obstacles so they may fully flourish.
