A matter of balance: Managing concerns about falls

Do you have concerns about falling? Many older adults express concerns about falling and restricting their activities. A matter of balance is an award-winning program designed to manage falls and increase activity levels.

This program covers topics including:

  • Exploring thoughts and concerns about falling
  • Exercise and fall prevention
  • Assertiveness and fall prevention
  • Managing concerns about falling
  • Recognizing fall-ty habits
  • Recognizing fall hazards in the home and community

This is a free course but registration is required. Participants must commit to attending all sessions. Sessions are held twice per week on the following dates:

  • Friday, October 4, 2019 – Stone Conference Room
  • Friday, October 11, 2019 – Room 101C
  • Friday, October 18, 2019 – Stone Conference Room
  • Friday, October 25, 2019 – Room 101C
  • Friday, November 1, 2019 – Room 101C
  • Friday, November 8, 2019 – Room 101C
  • Friday, November 15, 2019 – Room 101C
  • Friday, November 22, 2019 – Knorr Conference Room
This class will be held in multiple rooms depending on dates. To get to the Annenberg Center: Park in Lot A and then take elevator to first floor. Exit elevator and turn left to enter the Annenberg Center. If you are not parking, entrance to the Annenberg Center is to the left of the hospital’s main entrance (facing the front of the hospital). The Stone Conference Room is on the left side of the hallway past the Library. Room 101C and the Knorr Conference Room are located on the first floor (top level) of the Annenberg Center. Garage parking is free—bring your token to the seminar for validation (not available for valet). Do not have token validated at the information desk.
