A matter of balance: Managing concerns about falls

Do you have concerns about falling? Many older adults express concerns about falling and restricting their activities. A matter of balance is an award-winning program designed to manage falls and increase activity levels.

This program covers topics including:

  • Exploring thoughts and concerns about falling
  • Exercise and fall prevention
  • Assertiveness and fall prevention
  • Managing concerns about falling
  • Recognizing fall-ty habits
  • Recognizing fall hazards in the home and community

This is a free course but registration is required. Participants must commit to attending all sessions. Sessions are held once per week on the following dates:

  • Tuesday, April 2, 2019 from 2:00–4:00 pm
  • Tuesday, April 9, 2019 from 2:00–4:00 pm
  • Tuesday, April 16, 2019 from 2:00–4:00 pm
  • Tuesday, April 23, 2019 from 2:00–4:00 pm
  • Tuesday, April 30, 2019 from 2:00–4:00 pm
  • Tuesday, May 7, 2019 from 2:00–4:00 pm
  • Tuesday, May 14, 2019 from 2:00–4:00 pm
  • Tuesday, May 21, 2019 from 2:00–4:00 pm
This event will be held in The Annenberg Center room 101A. The Annenberg Center is to the left of the hospital’s main entrance (facing the front of the hospital).
