A matter of balance: Managing concerns about falls

Do you have concerns about falling? Many older adults express concerns about falling and restricting their activities. A matter of balance is an award-winning program designed to manage falls and increase activity levels.

This program covers topics including:

  • Exploring thoughts and concerns about falling
  • Exercise and fall prevention
  • Assertiveness and fall prevention
  • Managing concerns about falling
  • Recognizing fall-ty habits
  • Recognizing fall hazards in the home and community

This is a free course but registration is required. Participants must commit to attending all sessions. Sessions are held twice per week on the following dates:

  • Tuesday, September 11, 2018 from 1:00–3:00 pm
  • Thursday, September 13, 2018 from 1:00–3:00 pm
  • Tuesday, September 18, 2018 from 1:00–3:00 pm
  • Thursday, September 20, 2018 from 1:00–3:00 pm
  • Tuesday, September 25, 2018 from 1:00–3:00 pm
  • Thursday, September 27, 2018 from 1:00–3:00 pm
  • Tuesday, October 2, 2018 from 1:00–3:00 pm
  • Thursday, October 4, 2018 from 1:00–3:00 pm
This event will be held in the Concordville Room: Conference Room A. To get to the conference room: Enter through the main entrance. Take the elevator to the second floor. Once off the elevator, turn left and go through the double doors. Conference Room A is straight ahead.
