This is an accelerated version of the one-day prepared childbirth class hosted over two class sessions. While the two-week accelerated series offers much of same material as the one-day class, it is conducted in a more accelerated, condensed manner. It is ideal for families with limited time and for those interested in preparing for labor and birth both in the classroom setting and by independent study. This class offering is also appropriate for moms looking for a childbirth refresher.
Class topics include:
- Understanding labor and birth
- Benefits of relaxation and general comfort measures – relaxation techniques are introduced in class for partners to practice on their own at home
- Options for medication and anesthesia
- Cesarean birth
- The early post-partum period and magic hour with your newborn
Please note: If you are interested in practicing relaxation and comfort techniques in class with feedback offered from an experienced childbirth educator, you may be better suited to take a comprehensive one day prepared childbirth class or attend the advanced comfort measures class in addition to the two-week accelerated series program.
When registering, please use the mother’s name only and date of birth. One registry per couple. Class size is limited so please register early. No children permitted.
