Main
Line Health (MLH) has named Andrew Norton, MD, Chief Medical
Officer. Dr. Norton, who most recently served as Senior Vice President,
Medical Affairs, and Chief Medical Officer for Froedtert Hospital, a
500-bed adult tertiary hospital affiliated with the Medical College of
Wisconsin (MCW) in Milwaukee, brings over 25 years of healthcare
experience to his new role. Effective July 1, he will assume his
responsibilities at MLH.
In welcoming Dr. Norton, Jack Lynch, President and CEO of MLH stated: “Dr. Norton brings considerable talents and clinical expertise to Main Line Health, further enhancing our ability to provide superior care to the region. We are honored that Dr. Norton has chosen to come to our organization to offer his experience and partner with us as we continue on our journey of becoming a world-class health system.”
Along with his clinical affiliation with the Medical College of Wisconsin, he also was a Professor of Clinical Medicine at the school. During his tenure with Froedtert, Dr. Norton had a wide range of responsibilities and areas of executive oversight, including managing affiliate support relationships with 19 academic departments, clinical program and brand development, electronic medical record selection and implementation, clinical research compliance, and medical staff functions including Joint Commission standards compliance.
Nationally, Dr. Norton is a past chair (2010-11) of the Chief Medical Officer Group of the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC). Dr. Norton earned his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at MCW.
