Malvern, PA – Entries are being accepted through June 25, 2012 for the 17th annual Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital Art Ability Exhibit and Sale. Art Ability is a unique year-long program that celebrates the work of artists with disabilities and culminates with the annual juried exhibition and sale. Artists from around the world with physical, cognitive, visual and hearing disabilities are welcome to submit their work for the annual event. This year’s exhibit will run from November 4, 2012 through January 20, 2013.
Open to artists with physical, cognitive, visual and hearing disabilities. Only work executed after the onset of disability or injury is eligible. All works must be for sale. Art previously exhibited in Art Ability is not eligible for submission. Reproduction prints will not be accepted. Eligible media includes: Works on paper, Works on Canvas or Board, Mixed Media, Sculpture, Jewelry, Photography and Fine crafts.

This year’s award judges include: Alida Fish, Professor, Media Arts: Photography, Film, Animation, The University of the Arts; Gary Steuer, Chief Cultural Officer for the City of Philadelphia; Adelina Vlas, Assistant Curator, Modern and Contemporary Art, The Philadelphia Museum of Art.
The juried process follows a stringent, two-step procedure that ensures the Art Ability Exhibit and Sale presents highly professional artwork that demonstrates the talent of the artists. Initial review of submissions will be conducted by the Art Ability committee and exhibition curator. The next step brings the judges together to award monetary prizes per entry category. More than $7,000 in prizes will be awarded. All work will be eligible for prizes of $1,000, $500, $250, $200, $150 and $50.
Art Ability will open on November 3 with the Patrons’ Preview Reception at Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital, 414 Paoli Pike, Malvern, PA.
